Your Smart Boating Pittwater Guide
Where else in the world can you drive 45 minutes from the centre of the nation's largest city. Jump onto your boat. And within minutes be sailing on an uncrowded first-class waterway... Surrounded by miles and miles of untouched bushland? Sydney is incredibly lucky to have Pittwater on it's doorstep. If you're a sailor Broken Bay and Pittwater offers you fabulous open stretches of uncrowded water.
And of course with a boat share you are not restricted to charter limits. You can sail out of the heads and explore Australia's East Coast. You can choose to head down to Sydney and explore the harbour or up to Port Stevens and beyond. If you love wildlife and the natural world the Pittwater area will not disappoint. The shorelines are almost entirely covered with the natural bushland of the Kuringai Chase National Park.
Because there are only a few roads and tracks in the area, wildlife flourishs. Take a bush walk and you could easily see swamp wallabies, sugar gliders, long-nosed bandicoots and ring-tailed possums. And of course a pod of dolphins might swim in your bow wave to make your day. There are some fabulous little beaches to relax on. And some wonderful walking tracks to explore if you're feeling energetic.
And if you want peace and quiet... ...you'll find it in Pittwater. Cowan Waters, Smith's Creek and Coal and Candle Creek are fabulous places to escape the modern life Anchor in a quiet bay. And you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere hearing nothing but the noises of the bushland.
You don't have to take our word for it... ... Brad and Kat McMaster have sailed all over the world and enjoyed a 3 year adventure sailing from the UK to Australia. You can find out here what they think of Pittwater sailing. |
